Viharagama is located between 30m to 300m contour lines in the inner plain and it is surrounded by southwest monsoon winds from May to october and northeast monsooos from November to April.

This area receives a bright sun all year round, and although there is no shortage at water throughout the year the area is plagued by frequent droughts.
The vegetation grows larger and many trees grow to the core.
